Hi, my name is Chris Kao. I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA, studied at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia , then moved to East Palo Alto in the Bay Area. I previously ran my own drone photography company and worked at a startups (Built Robotics, WePay), mid-size (Cruise), and large-size (Meta) tech companies as a software engineer. Currently I am working on a startup that blends my passions in transportation and technology.

Outside of work, I serve on the East Palo Alto Planning Commission and San Mateo County Transportation Authority Community Advisory Committee. I write about a lot of my civic engagement work on my East Palo Alto Sun blog.
